Menu item custom styles

Hi, I'm having some issues applying custom style to menu item, after installing advanced menu module.

Basically I see that whatever 'background' I set either for 'nav' tag in my theme's Site.css or in class set in  'Additional CSS classes' (in Menu Item config in admin panel) it always get's overridden by sf-menuNNN which is added from inside the module. I've looked into the module and it seems that actually it is hardcoded that the superfish styles are added (Menu.Styling.cshtml).

So at this time it seems to me that there is no other way than overriding superfish.css in the module (which makes a little sense)? Or maybe there's another way? I've been playing with Orchard only for a couple of days now, so obviously I've might have missed something.
