Unfortunately I haven't been up to date and just went from 1.3 to 1.6 today.

My issue is:

I had a bindtuning.com theme (and old one) which supported your advanced menus and rendered properly.

Now the inbuilt hierarchical menus don't render properly. I'm hoping bind has an update that renders inbuilt menus properly.

Good:) I probably may now officially say that the successor of this module will be Onestop Navigation. It's still heavily being worked on, but it's ok to use it right now. There is no download package available yet, but you may grab the code (1.5-compat branch - do not use default or other branches until further notice) and drop it into your /Modules folder. Upgrade from Advanced Menu is not yet available, so you need to recreate your whole menu to use it atm. It is compatble with Orchard 1.5 and 1.6.

I will send a not when the upgrade path between Advanced Menu and Onestop Navigation would be available, though.

Definitely not. As in 1.5 we now have hierarchical navigation built-in, so this module became partialy obsoleted. There will be a new module (+ migration path from this one and the default 1.5 nav) arriving at the end of this month, which will provide a *lot* more features (versioning, history, scheduling changes etc.), along with nice drag&drop UI - then I'll mark this module as obsoleted.

For now, you can use this (if on Orchard <1.5) or the default navigation module (if on Orchard>= 1.5). There will be a migration path for both of them to the new module.

I'm guessing that method no longer exists in 1.5; so I'm wondering if the HackedNavigationManager provider applies anymore(?).

I'm getting the below yellow screen when it loads the module's dll:

I just had this error. Found a record in Szmyd_Orchard_Modules_Menu_AdvancedMenuPartRecord table with NULL for the name value. I deleted that record and all is fixed now.

Hi, I'm pretty much an MVC3 and Orchard novice. I'm currently using your advanced menu module and it works great! But, in one instance, I've customized the styling. Since I just want this change in one place, is there a way I can pass the MenuName property or a unique ID from the menu view to the menuitem view, called by displaychindren procedure?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks for any input on this!

I didn't know that about 1.5, i think i will wait for that version then and see what i can do with it and if the importing works better for that.

Hey Walance,

Import/Export feature has been contributed by the community a while ago - need to revisit it.

Btw, I probably won't be releasing any new updates to the module till Orchard vNext (scheduled to arrive very soon, in mid/end July), unless someone finds a real showstopper. Orchard 1.5 will have a brand new core navigation system that will have almost the whole functionality of Advanced Menu module, making it obsolete in big number of cases. I'm focusing on providing a seamless migration atm.

Hello,

I have tested a bit more and it seems that there's really something wrong with the importing itself, not my tool. I created an empty Orchard website, added a menu and some items to it, with working relations and everything. Then i exported everything, created an empty site again and imported it in there. That way i had the exact same problem.

Hmm.. i just noticed that, if i import the same xml file twice in a row (without changing it in between), then a lot of the relations do work suddenly, but not all of them. What can this mean?

It's kinda weird and stupid, but if it would work for everything, then i wouldn't mind doing this. Unfortunately it doesn't work for everything :(

//Edit: All the pages that don't work are not normal pages, they are <Documentgallerypages>. So it seems that i maybe have to do something different for pages of that type..

Hello,

We're going to migrate to Orchard. We are building a tool that creates an xml file which we can upload into the import/export module of Orchard. We use the Orchard Advanced Menu module for our menus.

When we import the xml file, all pages and all menu items get created successfully, however the relation between them does not. I can't figure out why. When create a blank site, add some pages and menu items work working relation and then export that, the xml file looks the same as our self generated xml file.

This is how our generated xml file looks like, with just 1 page and 1 menu item:
